This course provides an introduction to the major world religions, offering a structured survey of Baha’i, Buddhism, Confucianism, Daoism (Taoism), Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, Shinto, and Sikhism. Students will examine the historical background, central beliefs, and religious practices of each tradition while engaging them from an evangelical Christian perspective. Required texts include A Passion for Truth (Chapter 5) by Alister McGrath (IVP, 1996), Pocket Guide to World Religions by Winfried Corduan (IVP, 2006), and The Baker Pocket Guide to World Religions by Gerald R. MacDermott (Baker, 2008). Prerequisites for this course are ST-1002 Bible and Its Interpretation and ST-2004 Christian Doctrine.
